Connecting
Connecting to Xero is quite easy, it requires you add the datasource and then approve in Xero. Step-by-step documents can be found here.
Data
Once connected, the datasets, gauges, and dashboards are loaded into your account. All data is a one way sync coming from Xero. BrightGauge does not alter any data within Xero itself.
All of the gauges have descriptions in them to help you understand what they are about. To help you better understand the datasets, here's a data diagram:
FAQ
- The datasets sync by default once a day at midnight your timezone. If you have a dashboard up with the Xero gauges, then the data will sync every 8 hours. This limitation is to not overload the Xero API. If you have a report scheduled to be sent out, the data will then refresh the hour before the report goes out. Unfortunately we cannot change this at the moment. To understand more about dataset syncing, read more here.
- If you ever decide to not want Xero data in BrightGauge, just go back to the Xero datasource in your datasources page and click delete. Once you have confirmed the deletion, everything will be deleted, there is no way to recover deleted setups in BrightGauge. Again this only deletes the information within BrightGauge, so if you decide to add Xero back in, just reconnect and we'll redownload the information from Xero and you'll start again from scratch.
- If you want other parts of the Xero app to be included in BrightGauge, let us know! Please contact Support by selecting Help > Open a Ticket from the top menu bar. Because this is an API integration, we'll need to do some investigation into the feasibility.
