When a field value is a number, you can apply various different number formats. These are located under the Formatting section of the Design setting within the gauge builder. To access, in the gauge builder, click on the "Design" option under the BrightGauge logo on the top left of the screen (#1 in the screenshot below). Then select the desired number field from the ones listed un the "Formatting" section (#2 in the screenshot below). The number formatting modal will then appear (#3 in the screenshot below).

By default, numbers formats in gauges round to the nearest whole number (no decimals). This, along with adding desired notations, can easily be changed using our Standard or Custom number formats outlined below.

**Standard Formatting**

The clip below outlines how the standards formatting options work:

**123 (Numeral)** -** **Allows the number to de displayed without any notation

**% (Percent)** - Allows the number to be displayed as a percentage (Please note that the raw format of the number in the dataset must be a decimal. The number format then multiplies the decimal by 100 and displays the percent symbol.)

**$$ (Currency) -** Allows the number to be displayed in your local currency. (Uses the $ symbol in the formatting, but the output will be the local currency sign $, £, or €. Local Currency is based on account's language setting.)

**00011** - Allows the number to be displayed in computer notation (Please note that the raw format of the number must be in bytes. The number format then converts the number to the appropriate magnitude using binary calculation [1024 base].)

**Decimals**

All four options listed above, allow the option to display decimals. To configure the desired number of decimal places to display, simply hover of the box titled "Decimals:" and use the arrows that appear to selected the desired number.

Please note by default all numbers are set to not display decimals, which rounds the number to the nearest whole.)

**Abbreviations**

The Numeral and Currency options listed above, provide two options to display the number:

-Regular: Which shows full number using commas to seprate the number places accordingly (ones, tens, hundreds, etc)

-Abbreviated: Rounds to the nearest thousandth and displays a letter for the magnitude change

**Custom Formatting**

To use our Custom formatting option, Select the "Custom" option from the number formatting modal.

Raymond BeltHow about adding a "blank" icon picture to the Set Conditional options under Colors & Thresholds... then we could add the condition "if = 0, set icon to blank". Also add a couple of dashes... one black, one red, one yellow and one red. Simple.

Now about "division by zero"... it would be good if we could blank that as well... (!)

John HallIn there any way to display the result as a % without multiplying the result by 100? For example, I want a result of 98 to simply be 98%, not 9800%.

John HallI have tried that but what it does is give me a result that looks like 9800.00% (still multiplying by 100, then just adding 2 decimals after the whole number of 9800)
