Welcome to BrightGauge!

By now you should have received your login credentials via email. This welcome email includes your BrightGauge subdomain, login email, temporary password, and if you’re being added by another admin, the dashboards you have access to.

There’s lots that you can do with your BrightGauge account! So much so, that we’re sure you’ll have questions along the way. Aside from this Knowledge Base, your greatest resource is your assigned Success Manager and our support team. They’re here to help train you and solve those tough, and often easy, questions along the way. If you have any questions, please contact Support by selecting Help > Open a Ticket from the top menu bar.

Now, there are a few tasks to accomplish to get you up and running with BrightGauge. Start with watching these two training videos, and then run through our checklist.

Step #1 - Connect your Datasource

Add one or more datasources to begin visualizing all of your important data from one central location.

Step #2 - See what comes with your Datasource

With every datasource comes a set of template gauges, dashboards, and reports ready for you to work with. Before you begin building from scratch, take a look at what's available right out of the box. Open up the Gauges side panel from your dashboard or report and begin adding to the templates.

Before you create a dashboard, report, or gauge from scratch, clone or copy one of our defaults and modify the filtering based on your needs/wants - You can always save any changes as new copies, leaving the original default in tact.

Step #3 - Put your Dashboards on display

Keep an eye on the KPIs that matter most to your performance by rotating dashboards up on a separate monitor or TV display.

Step #4 - Share Dashboards with team members and clients

Give your team members and clients access to custom dashboards via the unlimited Viewer licenses available to your account. Learn more about how to set up dashboards for individual team members or for each of your clients.

Step #5 - Schedule a Report

Create a report from a template or from scratch and send to any Viewer(s) on your account. Schedule these to go out on any desired cadence and encourage viewers to drilldown into the metrics behind the numbers. Learn more here on how to schedule client reports.

Step #6 - Build a Gauge

If you want to build out your own custom metrics or if you’ve hit the limits of applying dashboard and report filters turn to the gauge builder. Make sure you’re using the right dataset and have the right filters selected.

Step #7 - Track progress with Goals

Drive accountability and inspire your team to improve by tracking weekly progress with goals.

Step #8  - Learn more about how to use BrightGauge

Every week we post customer stories, new integration announcements, and best practices on how to get the most out of your BrightGauge account— all via the BrightGauge Blog.
