Autotask Unaccepted Privacy Policy Sync Error

This sync error typically occurs when an Autotask user has not accepted the Autotask Privacy Policy and that user's login information is being used to authenticate Autotask within BrightGauge. There are two options to resolve this error.

Option 1: Log in to Autotask as the user and accept the Privacy Policy.

Option 2: Change the security level of the user to API User (API-Only). As an API User the user will only have access to the API and will not be able to log in to the Autotask UI. The steps for both options are as follows.

To Resolve the Error by Accepting the Privacy Policy

  1. Navigate to Autotask.
  2. Log in to Autotask with the same login information with which Autotask was on-boarded in BrightGauge.
  3. Accept the Privacy Policy within Autotask.
  4. Navigate back to BrightGauge, and perform a manual sync on the dataset.
  5. Ensure your dataset completes a successful sync.

To Resolve the Error by Changing the Security Level

  1. Navigate to Autotask.
  2. Log in to Autotask as a user with permissions to change security levels.
  3. Change the security level of the user used in BrightGauge to API User (API-Only). Note: After changing the security level, this user will no longer be able to log in to Autotask via the UI.
  4. Navigate back to BrightGauge, and perform a manual sync on the dataset.
  5. Ensure your dataset completes a successful sync.

If the dataset syncs are still displaying errors after completing these steps, or if you have any questions, please contact Support by selecting Help > Open a Ticket from the top menu bar.
