We are now connected to the Backup Radar API as a featured integration within BrightGauge so you may create dashboards and reports. Here is a guide to help get you started with Backup Radar and BrightGauge.
Step 1 - Log in to your BrightGauge Account
If you have not created an account yet, go here to get started.
Once you have logged in:
- For New Accounts:
From the account Overview page, click on the "Add a Datasource" button:
- For Existing Accounts:
From the account Overview page (to access, click on the BrightGauge logo on the top left hand corner), click on the green "+" towards the bottom right of the page (next to the list of your existing datasources):
Or, simply click on the "Data" menu on the top right hand corner of the screen, and then select "Datasources" from the drop down menu:
On the "Add a New Datasource" page, you will find an icon for "Backup Radar":
After clicking on this icon, you will be taken to a page where you will enter your own Backup Radar API key:
The API Key may be found when you log into your https://app.backupradar.com/#/page/login console.
Click on the hamburger menu in the upper left-hand corner:
Then, you'll want to click on "Configuration":
Next, you'll need to click on "API":
Finally, go ahead and "Add API key". This is the key you will copy and enter to onboard this datasource. You only need one!
Step 2 - Test and Save the Backup Radar Datasource in BrightGauge
After adding your API key, make sure to test the Datasource to make sure it is connecting correctly. Once that is good to go, hit "Save".
Datasets and gauges will be added to your account and they will start syncing immediately. Initial syncs usually take 20-30 minutes to complete.
The datasource name will be "Backup Radar" by default, but feel free to edit the name and save your changes.
