Connecting to Liongard

Are you using Liongard to automate your internal processes (discovery, documentation, change detection, and assessment)? Great! We now have Liongard as a featured integration within our application.  This means you can now create beautiful dashboards and reports to have all of that data in one consolidated location! Here's a quick document to help you get set up.

Step 1 - Log in to your BrightGauge Account

If you haven’t created an account yet, go here to get started.

  • New Accounts

On first login, from the account Overview page, click Add a Datasource:

  • Existing Accounts

From the account Overview page (to access, click on the BrightGauge logo on the top left-hand corner), click on Add a new Datasource towards the bottom right of the page (next to the list of your existing datasources):

AddNewDatasourceBottomRight.gif

Or, click on the Data menu on the top right-hand corner of the screen, and select Datasources from the drop-down menu:

Now, you will find the Liongard datasource under the Other category or All.  If you're interested in other Integrations, simply browse the additional categories that are available for you to select from.

Step 2 - Configure the Datasource

Whether a new or existing account, clicking on the Liongard datasource logo brings you to the following page:

Simply fill out the form with the following fields:

  • Name: Choose a name for your datasource - Many of our users will simply title it Liongard
  • Your Liongard URL Name: Not to be confused with the full URL, simply enter the name used to access your Liongard instance.
    • For example, if our URL was BrightGauge.app.liongard.com, we would simply enter 'BrightGauge'.
  • Access Key ID / Access Key Secret
    • You will need to log-in to your Liongard instance to generate both your Acess Key ID and Access Key Secret.  Here is some documentation directly from Liongard expanding on how to do so: Accessing the API

Step 3 - Test the Connection

Make sure to test the connection.  If successful, save the connection.

Dashboards, reports, datasets, and gauges are added to your account after the datasource is saved. They will start syncing immediately and typically complete syncing after 20-30 minutes.
