How to Edit a CSV in OneDrive and pull that new data into BrightGauge

There are two ways to successfully edit your CSV data in order to visualize those edits in your BrightGauge dataset and gauges.

 1) Download the file from OneDrive to your desktop

  • Update the data in your CSV. Please keep in mind the type of data you are changing. For example, if you have a column set to a "Number" type in your BrightGauge dataset, but change that data in your CSV to text, your dataset will break.
  • Do not add/remove/edit column headers as this would break your dataset.
  • Export the file to CSV
  • Save As with exact same name in order to replace the file
  • Upload this file to OneDrive (replacing the existing one)
  • Once your dataset syncs, you should be able to see your changes reflected in BrightGauge

 2) Edit from Excel

  • Open the file from OneDrive. This will open the file in Excel.
  • Save As CSV and "replace" the file
  • Once your dataset syncs, you should be able to see your changes reflected in BrightGauge
