This article describes how to uninstall the BrightGauge Agent.
BrightGauge Agent (v5)
The current BrightGauge Agent (v5) can be uninstalled directly via the Microsoft Control Panel.
Legacy BrightGauge Agents (V4 and Earlier)
Older versions of the BrightGauge agent, including v4 and earlier, must be uninstalled using the legacy Windows Installer Package. Failure to do so may result in unnecessary items remaining in the registry as well as the service ending up in an odd state.
Step 1: Ensure that no Datasource on your account is using this agent.
NOTE: To confirm that your Datasources are using the latest version of the BrightGauge Agent (v5), open EACH of your on-premise Datasources and ensure that you see the following header on the configuration page:
If you do not see this header on an on-premise Datasource of yours, this indicates that it is still using our legacy agent. If this is the case, please refer to the following document which highlights how to upgrade a Datasource to our latest agent:
Step 2: Stop the legacy BrightGauge Agent service via services.msc.
Step 3: Download the legacy install application.
Step 4: Extract all files from the .zip folder.
Step 5: Double click on the BrightGauge Agent.msi file.
Step 6: Select the Remove option and click Finish.
